If you are seeing this, there is a high chance you may have not seen what it is like to write a YouTube video, well here is a glimpse at my latest project from my new writer's room, this one was super fun to work on!

I VISITED EVERY BUC-EE'S!

  • I Drove To Every Buc-ee’s in the Country

Intro: 30-50 seconds (video: 3rd person in Trace’s house)

Buc-cee’s #1 (15-30 seconds)

  • walk into bucees and give opinion at first glance and say this is buc-ees #1

  • Trace will go in and buy a corny Buc-ee’s shirt this wont need to be filmed

“this is so dumb like who in the world would buy th-”

“i bought it.”

BIT:

  • film trace going into bathroom with normal shirt, film him leaving bathroom with bucees shirt

    • use this audio over the scene of trace going into bathroom and coming out with bucees shirt

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69AyYUJUBTg

he should wear it for the rest of the video

  • trace comes out of bathroom and comes up to camera and says 1 down, 44 more to go and does some sort of funny thing after he says it.

  • jump cut to next scene (into montage)

Bucees 2-12 (14-15 seconds)

  • literally just take clips of trace at each buccees — make sure that the sign with location is in the frame.. if there is no location, just say the location in the video for editor

  • use fun music for montage.. keep each clip around 1 second EACH — maybe 1.5-2 seconds for signs that you have to edit locations for

  • Add a counter of x/44 in the top left of the shot, increase by one for each location.

Bucees #13 45-80 seconds

  • Film trace in the car at the 11th bucees talking to tim - vlog style, low quality production — spontaneous convo about buc-ees

  • add the clip of trace in front of the sign (keep it 1-2 seconds long) with the counter saying 11/58 but trace will not have said he has arrived to the 11th yet

  • film trace walking into the store with him

  • Trace walks up to somebody and asks them a question — “would you like to do an interview?” Film this part too

  • Get the name of the person and have it on the screen while interviewing them.

  • add the part of trace walking up to person and asking for an interview

  • ask their name and where their from

  • Interview:

    • Q: “What would you think Bucee’s is known for?”

    • Q: What’s your first impression of Buc-ee's?

    • Q: If you were to describe the staff in 2 words, what would they be?

  • Interview Editing:

    • 1st question: normal editing

    • 2nd - 3rd question: add clips showing trace show off what person is talking about overlayed when they say what it is — example: person: “i think its brisket sandwich” and then add clip of trace holding the sandwich on top of what they just said

  • Trace will, thank the person he interviewed for their time and say he is heading out to the next buc-ee’s.

  • transition to montage: vlog trace heading to the car — spontaneous

Bucee’s 14-24 30-60 seconds

  • Roll a montage of #12-21

  • Montage:

    • Needs to show clips of trace in front of signs and a small little map to show the locations journey

    • clips of people walking with the thing trace notices

  • Trace will do a vlog which will ALSO be a V.O. (the V.O. will just be the audio from his vlog and once the montage ends fade into the vlog.) over the montage

  • in Vlog (Voice over portion) talk about how the interview with whoever he interviewed at bucees #11 has impacted his view on Bucee’s currently and add in about something he has noticed himself that a lot of people purchase

  • over next 10 locations: film people buying whatever trace “notices more and more people buying”

ive noticed a LOT of pepole buying beaver nuggets which is just a puffy corn nugget with brown sugar and caramel (reaction)

fudge (reaction)

and brisket sandwiches (reaction)

  • Finish the montage and fade into Trace vlogging in the car revealing the next buccees .

  • Trace will look up and say something like “you’ll never guess where we are.. #22” and turn the camera around to reveal Buc-ee’s #22

Buc-ee’s #22 - 60 seconds

  • Trace will be walking towards the Buc-ee’s and will talk to the camera about something he has bucees does when there is a new brisket cooked to be made into sandwiches

  • Roll a clip of a bunch of different people yelling “Brisket on the board”.

  • film trace walking in and going up to the food counter

  • ask employee and what the saying is and what it means

  • as employee responds to question, overlay b-roll of kitchen prepping brisket get broll shots of the kitchen prepping brisket

  • Trace will ask one of the employees “about how many times a day do you say ‘Brisket on the board’?” and will ask “when’s the next time you guys are going to say it?” and then ask “Can I say it with you guys?”

  • Trace yells brisket on the board and catch reaction of trace after it

  • Trace talk about getting a brisket sandwich, try it, a and gives his thoughts, then say something like “moving on lets go” then cut to montage

Buc-ee’s 23-32 30-45 seconds

  • Montage:

    • cinematic drone footage of buccees

    • show clips of trace in front of 23-27

    • roll drone footage again

    • show clips of trace in front of 28-31

  • for montage: add a counter in the top left.

  • add fun music or cool music over montage.. whichever one fits better

Buc-ee’s #33 (will actually be 19) 60-75 seconds

  • Trace arrives at buc-ee’s #33, this one should be in Texas. “#33 baby lets GO!”

  • as we are pulling into #33 Trace will look at the camera and say “looks the same to me, I guess everything isn’t bigger in Texas” then awkwardly laugh and awkwardly smile at the camera.

  • Trace will walk into the store and buy a cowboy hat.

  • Make this part really cinematic with western music Trace goes to a Buc-ee’s statue and says “This town aint big enough for the two of us chipmunk…” cinematic vibe cuts off with a record scratch then Tim will tell him it is a Beaver and trace just laughs.

  • Trace (V.O.) is like “I have asked people from around the country their thoughts on buc-ees, but how about we ask the people from where buc-ees was founded

this is the first official

899 Oyster Creek Drive Lake Jackson, Texas 77566

  • interview like 3-5 people with this question

  • Trace will ask them the set of questions from before but add the Texas question, and we will focus on the Texas question for the video —

    • Q; Buc-ee's has a strong sense of Texas pride. How does this resonate with you and other visitors? (Ask when in Texas)

    • Q: Trace can tell them how many Buc-ee’s he has been to and say that it feels like every buc-ee's has been to felt like a little slice of Texas no matter where he was.

  • trace says “now lets ask a few people if I look like you average texan”

  • play the “I wanna be a cowboy baby!” clip after trace says that^

  • (ask people you have not interviewed) Trace can ask them what they think of of his outfit and if he looks like a Texan. ask 4 people

  • get trace asking question to 1 person, have the persons response followed with other peoples responses and end with a clip of someone saying “yes” and trace looks at camera and says “yee-haw baby”

after yeehaw baby transition to last montage

Final montage #34-44 30-45 seconds

  • Roll montage of 34-43 and have a map animation and show a finish line over the final location.

  • add clips of trace showing the signs of each bucees again

  • Trace says as a VOICEOVER about how long he has been driving, how many buc-ee locations he has been to, and how many hours of sleep he has gotten during this time. Then say we are almost at buc-ees #45 which will mean I have officially traveled to every currently open buc-ees in the U.S.. What have I learned about Buc-ees? I can’t tell you yet until I have been to EVERY SINGLE ONE. So lets do that.

we’ve currently been driving for ____ hours, been to 44 locations, and have gotten a whopping __ hours of sleep “health”

we about __ hours away from buc-ees number 45 which will be we will have traveled to every currently opened bucees in the country.

what have i learned from bucees? well i can’t tell you that because i have been to everyy single oneee so… lets do that

  • transition to pulling in

Buc-ee’s #45 20-30 seconds

  • pull into the final buc-ees — be hype about finally reaching the last buc-ees

  • look at the camera and share how many miles you have traveled total and reiderate how many buc-ees you have been to.. say “in conclusion buc-ees is a place where people gather with one thing in common.. taking breaks from a long or short road trip for amazing gas prices and brisket sandwiches. that being said, thank you so much for watching, and I’ll catych you guys in the next one

  • film trace walking over to get a brisket sandwich

  • Voice over: Use the audio from the interview over trace going to get the brisket sandwich.

  • Trace goes into Buc-cee’s and get’s the food and tries it.

  • Trace’s talks about the food.

  • Cut back to the interview, Trace thanks them for their time and heads out.

  • Walk back to the car.

V.O. #1 into travel vlog #2 45-75 seconds

  • Roll B-roll footage of Trace and Tim at some of the buc-ee’s locations after the one they just visited.

  • Trace will talk over the footage explaining what happened at each location and where these locations are state wise. We need to announce whenever we enter a new state.

  • The v.o transitions into a travel vlog and it fades into trace still talking sitting in the car as the car crosses a state line.

Next Buc-ee’s: 30-45 seconds

  • Trace gets out of the car.

  • Trace goes into Buc-cee’s and does something (TBD)

  • Trace leaves the store and heads back to the car.

  • Before he enters the car he talks about how far of a journey he has gone up to the point, and talks about how many more buc-ee’s he has left.

  • There are 10 buc-ee’s left for him to visit so we will spend the last 5ish minutes of the video going and showing them all.

10 Buc-ee’s left 30-45 seconds

  • Arrive at the location number 48, show text on the screen Buc-ee’s #48 (insert location’s city and state here), 10 buc-ee’s left to go.

  • Trace take a moment to let it all sink in, that there are only 10 more buc-ee’s left.

  • Q: “What is Bucee’s known for?” A: “Brisket sandwich” (ask someone until they say it) — possible response of person: “The food” Trace Q: “Whats the best food to get” in hopes they say brisket sandwich

    • Whatever responses we get are what features we highlight at each visit.

  • Q: Can you share your first impression of Buc-ee's and what made it memorable for you?

  • Q: What are some features of Buc-ee's that appeal to you?

  • Q: If you were to describe the staff in 2 words, what would they be?

  • Q; Buc-ee's has a strong sense of Texas pride. How does this resonate with you and other visitors? (Ask when in Texas)
